The William Smith College squash team downed No. 30 Boston College 9-0 in its first round match of the 2016 Epps Cup of the College Squash Association Team Championships. The No. 27 Herons improve to 16-8 this season.
 
William Smith advances to take on No. 26 Wesleyan in the Epps Cup semifinals tomorrow, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. The Eagles take on Vassar tomorrow in the consolation bracket.
 
Sophomore Cashel McCarthy posted an 11-5, 5-11, 11-3, 11-4 win at the top spot and sophomore Michaelann Denton notched an 11-8, 11-6,11-8 triumph at No. 2. At the No. 3 spot, first-year Madison Bradley earned n 11-4,11-7, 11-5 win and junior Delaney Teceno downed her competition 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 at the No. 4 spot. Sophomore Peyton Capute posted an 11-8, 11-6, 11-6 victory at No. 5 and Anna Worcester produced an 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 win at No. 6. Junior Brooke Hayes won 11-1, 11-6, 11-7 at No. 7 and senior Justine Shank came out on top 11-6, 11-5, 11-8 at No. 8. First-year Stacy Avigail Maceda triumphed 11-4, 4-11, 11-2, 11-4 at the No. 9 spot.
