William Smith Squash Paige Mullin Cooke

Heron squash edged by Wesleyan 5-4

The No. 27 William Smith College squash team was edged by No. 26 Wesleyan 5-4 in the semifinal match of the Epps Cup in the College Squash Association Team Championships.
 
The Herons are now 16-9 this season. William Smith will take on Connecticut College in its final match of the season tomorrow, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. The Cardinals advance to the Epps Cup championship where they will face Dickinson tomorrow.
 
Sophomore Michaelann Denton edged her competition 9-11, 11-7, 11-8, 15-13 at the No. 2 spot. Junior Delaney Teceno triumphed 11-9, 11-6, 12-10 at No. 4, and classmate Brooke Hayes posted a 3-2 victory at No. 7 (3-11, 10-12, 13-11, 11-9, 11-6). First-year Stacy Avigail Maceda earned an 11-3, 11-7, 11-8 win at No. 9.
