CANTON, N.Y.-The Hobart College tennis team was edged by St. Lawrence 6-3 in a tightly contested Liberty League match in Newell Field House this evening. The loss snaps the Statesmen's four-match winning streak and brings their overall record to 6-5 on the season and 1-1 in Liberty League play.

The Saints (7-6, 2-0) took control in the match with 8-5 wins in the top two doubles spots. Hobart notched a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 3. Sophomore

Jonah Salita extended his winning streak to three matches for Hobart with a 7-6 (10-8), 7-6 (7-3) win at No. 1. Salita is 8-6 in his rookie season, including a 7-4 record at No. 1. The Statesmen's second singles point came at No. 4 where first-year
Jonathan Atwater rallied to defeat Paul Barrett in three sets, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 6-2. He is now a team-best 11-4 in singles play, including a 9-2 mark in dual matches.

Hobart will look to bounce back on Wednesday when it hosts Rochester. The Statesmen are 6-1 in dual matches in Geneva this season.
