The Thoroughbreds (9-3, 4-0), who entered today's match ranked 20th in the nation and 7th in the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Northeast Rankings, jumped out to a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles play. Hobart first-years Jonathan Atwater and Jonah Salita notched the Statesmen's lone point on the afternoon with an 8-5 win in doubles play. They defeated Skidmore's Kit Sanderson and Jonah Epstein, the 15th ranked doubles team in Thursday's Northeast Regional Rankings.

The Throughbreds have won four of the past five Lbierty League Championships and feature a lineup that includes the nation's fifth ranked singles player, Kai Yuen Leung, and fourth best doubles team, Leung and Nick Tong.

In singles play, Atwater played tough at No. 3 before falling 7-5, 6-3 to Kit Sanderson. Salita and junior Michael Rusk played tight matches at Nos. 1 and 2 respectively despite the final margin in their matches. The Statesmen will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they host Union. The Liberty League match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
