GENEVA, N.Y.-The Hobart College tennis team closed out the home portion of its schedule with a 9-0 Liberty League win over Union at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The win improves the Statesmen to 7-7 overall and 7-3 at home.

Jonah Salita posted an 8-2 win to wrap up doubles. They are a team-best 10-6 on the season.

The Statesmen got off to a quick start in singles play. Salita made it 4-0 Hobart when his opponent,Max McGeown called the match due to injury. At No. 2, Rusk improved to 9-5 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Conry Jr. The victory clinched the overall win for the Statesmen. Nichols knocked off Zach Kaplan in the fourth spot with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Nichols is now 7-3 at No. 4 this season. Atwater collected his team-high 12th singles win at No. 3, defeating Union's Spencer Fontain 6-0, 6-2. Gray cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win victory at No. 5. Junior

Hobart will be back in action on Wednesday, April 20, when it travels to RIT for a key Liberty League contest. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
