The William Smith College squash team closed out the Pioneer Valley Invitational going 2-0 today in Northampton, Mass. The Herons topped host Smith 9-0 and defeated Connecticut College 9-0.

Gabby Fraser defeated her Smith opponent 11-1, 11-0, 11-2 at the top spot. Junior
Michaelann Denton won 11-2, 11-4, 11-5 at No. 2 and junior
Cashel McCarthy posted an 11-2, 11-1, 11-1 win at No. 3. Senior
Allie Rubin cruised to an 11-2, 11-1, 11-4 win at the No. 4 spot and first-year
Djenebo Ballo topped her opponent 11-1, 11-2, 11-2 at No. 5. Senior
Delaney Teceno downed her competition 11-2, 11-0, 11-0 at No. 6. Sophomore
Madison Bradley won 11-0, 11-4, 11-1 at No. 7 and senior
Brooke Hayes triumphed 11-1, 11-1, 11-3 at No. 8. Junior
Anna Worcester recorded an 11-0, 11-1, 11-0 victory at No. 9.
Against the Camels, Fraser earned a 3-1 win at the No. 1 spot (11-6, 9-11, 11-4, 11-8). Denton cruised to an 11-4, 11-9, 11-3 win at No. 2, and McCarthy registered an 11-2, 13-11, 11-5 victory at No. 3. At No. 4, Rubin dropped her first two games 10-12 and 8-11, but rallied to win the next three 12-10, 11-2, 11-7. Ballo won 11-7, 11-7, 11-6 at No. 5, and Teceno earned an 11-5, 11-2, 11-4 win at No. 6. Bradley came out on top 11-3, 13-11, 11-2 at No. 7. At No. 8 Hayes lost her first game 4-11, but then won the next three 11-8, 11-3, 11-8. Worcester triumphed 11-4, 11-6, 11-5 at No. 9.
The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, Jan. 22, when they host Drexel at 10 a.m.
