The Heron squash team earned two victories in the William Smith Round Robin today in the Smith Squash Center. The Herons are now 10-6 overall.

The Herons opened the morning with a 9-0 win over Colgate. First-year
Gabby Fraser led the way with an 11-0, 11-0, 11-1 victory at the No. 1 spot. Junior
Michaelann Denton posted an 11-5, 11-5, 11-1 win at No. 2, and junior
Cashel McCarthy blanked her opponent 11-0, 11-0, 11-0 at No. 3. Senior
Allie Rubin recorded an 11-5, 11-0, 11-0 triumph at No. 4, and first-year Djenebo Ball won 11-4, 11-4, 11-4 at No. 5. Senior
Delaney Teceno cruised to an 11-1, 11-0, 11-0 victory at No. 6 and sophomore
Madison Bradley notched an 11-1, 11-1, 11-1 win at No. 7. Senior
Brooke Hayes won 11-2, 11-2, 11-2 and No. 8, and junior
Peyton Capute registered an 11-6, 11-2, 11-1 victory at the No. 9 spot.

In its second match of the day, William Smith, which is ranked No. 24, edged No. 19 St. Lawrence 5-4. The Herons picked up wins at No. 4-8 to clinch the victory. Rubin rallied after dropping her first game 9-11 to win 11-4, 11-8, 11-4 at No. 4. Ballo won in five games at No. 5 (11-7, 8-11, 4-11, 11-3, 11-9). At No. 6, Teceno triumphed 11-6, 11-6, 11-7 and Bradley topped her opposition 11-2, 11-8, 9-11, 11-5. Hayes produced a 10-12, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8 at No. 8.Â
The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, Jan. 29, when they host Hamilton at noon.
