Herons drop matches to No. 24 Colby, No. 19 Tufts

The William Smith College squash team dropped both of its matches in the Wesleyan Round Robin in Middletown, Conn., today. The No. 20 Herons fell 7-2 to No. 24 Colby and then lost 9-0 to No. 19 Tufts.
 
William Smith Is now 5-3 this season. Sophomore Gabby Fraser and first-year Jo Pacheco earned the Heron wins against the Mules. Fraser won at No. 1 by a score of 13-11, 11-9, 11-9. At No. 2 Pacheco topped her Colby opponent 4-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-8, 13-11. She also battled her Tufts opposition to five games at No. 3, but lost 11-7, 7-11, 5-11, 11-4, 11-13.
 
The Herons return to action after the semester break. William Smith will host Dickinson for their home opener on Jan. 13 at 1 p.m.
