The William Smith College squash team was tripped up by Amherst College 8-1 this morning in the Walker Cup semifinals at the College Squash Association Team Championships hosted by Princeton.
 
The Herons, who are ranked No. 22 in the most recent CSA rankings, were topped by No. 18 Amherst. William Smith met the Purple and White for the second time this season. The Herons fell 9-0 to Amherst back on Jan. 20 in the Pioneer Valley Invitational.
 
William Smith's lone win came at the No. 1 spot. First-year Gabby Fraser battled for an 11-2, 11-2, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9 win at the top spot. She's now 14-6 at No. 1 this year.
 
The Herons will play in the consolation finals tomorrow, Feb. 26, at 11:15 a.m.
