ORLANDO, Fla.-The Hobart College tennis team improved to 2-0 on its spring break trip thanks to a 6-3 victory over the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse this morning.

This was the second year in a row that the Statesmen and Eagles were scheduled to play in Orlando. Last year, UWL led Hobart 2-1 after doubles before the heavens opened up and forced the cancelation of the match.

Danny Kot won 8-5 at No. 2, collecting their team-leading fourth win of the season. Sophomore

Harry Nichols won 8-4 at No. 3.

The Eagles (8-4) salvaged a split in singles play winning at Nos. 1, 4, and 6. Atwater, the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, improved to a team-leading 7-2 in singles play, besting Kyle McGrane 6-4, 3-6, 10-6 in the No. 2 spot. First-year
Joe Mallon is a perfect 3-0 in his rookie campaign after a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5. Dubrovsky closed out the match for the Statesmen with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Austin Stefanich at No. 3 singles. Dubrovsky is now 6-2 on the year.

Hobart was scheduled to play Colby-Sawyer at 7 p.m., but the match was canceled due to heavy rains in the Orlando area.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Wednesday, March 15, when it takes on Franklin and Marshall at 12:30 p.m. The Diplomats are ranked 12th in latest Oracle/ITA Division III Men's Atlantic South Regional Rankings.
