ITHACA, N.Y.- The Hobart College tennis team defeated Ithaca 7-2 in a non-conference match inside Glazer Arena this evening. The win improves the Statesmen to 4-1 on the season while the Bombers fall to 4-3 overall.

Hobart took a 2-1 lead in the match at the conclusion of doubles play. Ithaca's Minos Stavrakas and Michael Gardiner won at No. 1 doubles but the Statesmen took the next two matches. Junior

Danny Kot improved to a team-best 5-2 on the year with an 8-7 (8-6) win at No. 2.

Hobart secured the overall victory, winning five of the six singles matches. Sophomore
Jonah Salita edged Michael Gardiner 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Salita improves to 7-4 in singles play this year. At the top of the lineup, Atwater rallied to defeat Minos Stavrakas, who is the 20th ranked singles player in the Oracle/ITA Division III Men's NE Regional Rankings, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Atwater is a team best 10-2 in singles play this year and is on a five match win streak. Dubrovsky clinched the overall victory for the Statesmen with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-3), win over Colten Lavery at No. 3 singles. Dubrovsky improves to 8-3 in his rookie season. First-year

Danny Kot won at No. 5 and 6, respectively. Mallon defeated Nathan Wolf 3-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-6, while Kot bested Lorenzo Viguie-Ramos 7-5, 6-1.

Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, March 29, when it travels to New York City for a match with New York University. The Violets are ranked 29th in the nation. The next day, the Statesmen will face The College of New Jersey. The Lions are ranked 40th in the nation.
