CLINTON, N.Y.- The Hobart College tennis team defeated Hamilton 5-4 in a non-conference match in Margaret Bundy Scott Field House this afternoon. The Statesmen, who were ranked 15th in latest Oracle/ITA Northeast Regional Rankings, improved to 6-3 with the win while the Continentals fall to 4-9 on the season.

Danny Kott defeated Eyad Nagori and Lars Scannell 8-5 at No. 1. Dubrovsky and Kot are now 6-2 in doubles play this year.
Dubrovsky tied the match 2-2 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Burke Paxton at No. 3 singles. Dubrovsky extended his winning streak to three matches and is now 11-4 on the year. Sophomore
Jonathan Atwater collected his team-leading 12th win of the season, besting Max McKee-Proctor 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. At No. 1 singles to give the Statesmen a 3-2 lead in the match. The Continentals regained the lead with wins at No. 2 and No. 5. Junior
Harry Nichols tied the match 4-4 with a three set win over Jon Cohen at No. 4. Cohen won the first set 7-5 (7-2), Nichols took the second 7-6 (8-6). In the third set, Nichols was down 5-2 and saved four match points to eventually tie the set 5-5. At 5-5, Nichols was down 40-0 and came back to break Cohen's serve. Nichols went on to win the third set 7-5. Kot secured the overall victory for Hobart with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No.6.
The Statesmen open Liberty League play next weekend with a pair of matches. On Saturday, April 8, Hobart will be in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to face Skidmore, which is ranked 22nd in the nation in the latest Oracle/ITA National Poll. On Sunday, April 9, the Statesmen will host St. Lawrence.
