The Hobart College tennis team swept a pair of Liberty League matches to clinch a spot in the Liberty League Tournament. The Statesmen beat Bard and Union 9-0 to improve to 12-4 on the year and 4-1 in conference play.

Michael Rusk were 2-0 in doubles play today. They beat Union 8-2 in the No. 2 spot and defeated Bard 8-1 in the top spot. Junior

Joe Mallon and
Colin Molloy won both of their matches today. Mallon defeated Justin Gold of Union 6-1, 6-1 and Bard's David Mamukelashivili 6-0, 6-1 later in the day. Molloy bested the Dutchmen's Ian Bank 6-3, 6-3 and the Raptor's Nichols George 6-1, 6-0. With a 6-1, 6-1 win over Union's Zach Kaplan, Atwater improved to a team best 17-5 in singles play. Senior
Patrick Dunk didn't lose a game in his first match of the spring. He won 6-0, 6-0 in the match against Bard.

The Statesmen will conclude their regular season next weekend, April 29-30, when it hosts Vassar and Rensselaer at the HWS Tennis Center.
