SCHENECTADY, N.Y.- The William Smith College tennis team used five singles wins to rally past Union 6-3 and keep its Liberty League tournament hopes alive. With today's victory, the Herons are now 10-7 overall and 3-3 in Liberty League play. The Dutchwomen fall to 7-9 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Morgan Hamre logged an 8-3 win at No. 3. Cattie and Hamre are a perfect 6-0 as a doubles team this year.

Allie Perron started the comeback for William Smith with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Paige Webster at No. 3 singles. Perron is a team best 15-10 in singles play this year with a 7-5 record in the third spot of the lineup. Sophomore

Kate Foley kept William Smith's rally going, defeating Union's
Alex Greenberg 6-4, 6-2 at No.4. The win was Foley's 12th singles win of her Rookie campaign. Senior
Hannah More clinched the overall victory for the Herons with a 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. The win was More's 13th of the season and 50th of her career. Of her 50 wins, 39 have come at the top of the lineup. First-year
Leland Barclay closed out the match with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 6.
The Herons currently sit in fourth place in the Liberty League standings with a 3-3 record in conference play. If William Smith beats Rensselaer next Saturday, April 29, it will clinch the fourth and final spot in the conference tournament. If the Engineers beat the Herons and then lose to Union on Sunday, April 30, there will be a three-way tie for the fourth spot in the standings at 3-4.
