Herons wrap up regular season with 2 home games

The William Smith College lacrosse team will round out its regular season schedule with two home Liberty League contests this weekend. The Herons host the University of Rochester on Friday, April 28, at 4 p.m., and then face RIT on Saturday, April 29 at 2 p.m.
 
The No. 8/1 Herons are 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the Liberty League heading into the weekend. William Smith is currently riding an 11-game win streak, and has a 6-0 record at home on Boswell Field. The Herons rank third in the nation in win percentage (.933) and scoring defense (4.53). With its league wins last week, William Smith has captured at least a share of the Liberty League regular season title and earned the right to host the conference tournament May 5-6 on Boswell Field.
 
Senior Alexandra Bird leads the team with 40 points on 30 goals and 10 assists. Junior Melissa Moore has dished out a team-high 13 assists and added 24 goals for 37 points. She also leads the way with 22 caused turnovers. Sophomore Laura Rollins has picked up a team-high 36 ground balls and classmate Bizzer Gahagan leads the team with 37 draws. Senior goalie Sarah Honan ranked third in Division III with a 4.52 goals against average and fourth with a .572 save percentage.
 
The Yellowjackets bring an 8-4 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Liberty League to Geneva. Jamie Wallisch leads the team with 48 points, 35 goals, 30 ground balls, 27 caused turnovers and 32 draws. Conley Ernsy has played the most minutes in goal. She's sporting a 6.08 GAA, a .551 save percentage and an 8-4 record in goal.
 
Heading into the weekend, the Tigers are 8-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play. RIT plays at Union on Friday afternoon. Going into the weekend, Emily Livecchi leads the team with 62 points on 40 goals and 22 assists. Sammy Ward has a team-high 39 draws, and Nicole Bingo leads the way with 14 caused turnovers and 24 ground balls. Rebekah Snitkoff has the most minutes in goal. She has registered a 10.05 GAA, a .436 save percentage and an 8-6 record.
