GENEVA, N.Y.- The Hobart College tennis team rallied past Vassar 5-4 in a Liberty League match at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The Statesmen, who were ranked 16th in the latest Oracle/ITA D-III Northeast Regional Rankings, are now 13-4 on the year and 5-1 in the Liberty League. The Brewers, who were ranked 17th in the same poll, finish the regular season 11-9 on the year and 4-3 in the conference.

Hobart won three of the last four singles matches to overcome a 4-2 deficit and win today's match. First-year
Alan Dubrovsky started the Statesmen rally with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Allen Sokolov at No. 2. The win was Dubrovsky's ninth in a row and ties him with sophomore
Jonathan Atwater for the team lead with 17 singles wins. Junior
Harry Nichols also pulled out a three set victory, knocking off Jamie Anderson 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. Nichols has won six straight matches and is 10-6 on the year. Senior
Michael Rusk tied the match at 4-4 with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6. Rusk has won four straight matches to improve to 5-3 on the year. Senior
Danny Kot clinched the overall victory for Hobart with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6.

Vassar took an early lead in the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The Statesmen duo of Atwater and Nichols won 9-7 at No. 3. Atwater and Nichols are a team best 11-5 this season.

Hobart will close out its regular season tomorrow, April 30, when it hosts Rensselaer at the HWS Tennis Center. The Statesmen and Engineers are both 5-1 in the Liberty League and the winner of tomorrow's match will claim the second seed in next weekend's Liberty League Tournament. Vassar has clinched the fourth seed in the Liberty League tournament and will play Skidmore, which is ranked 25th in the Oracle/ITA Men's Team Rankings, in the Liberty League semifinals.
