With its second straight and fifth overall Liberty League regular season title, the William Smith College lacrosse team earned the right to host the 2017 Liberty League tournament. As the top seed, the Herons will face No. 4 Rochester on Friday, May 5, at 2 p.m. on Boswell Field.

The other semifinal will feature No. 2 Skidmore and No. 3 St. Lawrence. Opening draw is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Boswell Field. The winners of each semifinal will advance to the championship game on Saturday, May 6, at 4 p.m. The winner of the championship game will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The Herons bring a 16-1 overall record into Friday's game. William Smith matched the program record for wins in a season and is currently riding a 13-game win streak. Senior
Alexandra Bird leads the team with 49 points on 34 goals and 15 assists. Junior
Melissa Moore is right behind her with 46 points on 32 goals and 14 assists. Moore also leads the way with 42 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers. Sophomore
Bizzer Gahagan has won a team-high 42 draws. Senior goalie
Sarah Honan is sporting a 4.52 goals against average and a .570 save percentage.

The Yellowjackets come back to Geneva with a 9-5 record. Jamie Wallisch has recorded a team-high 53 points on 40 goals and 13 assists. She also leads the team with 33 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers and 34 draws. Jamison Seabury has also won a team-high 34 draws. Conley Ernst has played the most minutes in goal. She has registered a 6.63 goals against average, a .528 save percentage and a 9-5 record.

Skidmore brings an 11-5 record into tournament play. Cas Szwajkowski has posted a team-high 70 points on 63 goals and seven assists. Rachel Talanian leads the way with 69 ground balls, 44 caused turnovers and 52 draws. Megan Kolopsky has played the most minutes in goal. She has an 8.66 goals against average, a .474 save percentage and a 10-4 record.

The Saints are 8-8 this season. Kiera Taussig has a team-high 29 points and also leads St. Lawrence with 29 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers. Julia Mitiguy has won a team-high 48 draws. Cricket Wemyss has played the most minutes in goal. She's sporting a 9.27 goals against average, a .434 save percentage and a 6-4 record.
