During Hobart and William Smith Colleges' Homecoming and Family Weekend, the 18th-ranked William Smith College field hockey team will host the 2017 William Smith Classic. The Herons welcome Lebanon Valley, Manhattanville, and St. Lawrence to Geneva for four games this weekend.

On Saturday, Sept. 16, William Smith will take on the Valiants at 11 a.m., while the Saints and Dutchmen will square off at 2 p.m. Sunday will see St. Lawrence take on Manhattanville at 11 a.m. and the Herons face Lebanon Valley at 2 p.m.

As a unit, the Herons' offense is third in the nation in assists per game (4.2), fifth in points per game (13.4), and 11th in goals per game (4.6).

Lebanon Valley (2-3) comes to Geneva looking to halt a three-game losing streak. The Dutchmen, like William Smith, began their season at the Drew Fall Festival with a pair of victories. First-year Cecile Kat leads Lebanon Valley with 11 points (4g, 3a). Karli Alichwer and Maddie Fox are second on the team with six points each. Goalie Tori ByDeLey is 2-3 with a 3.31 goals against average and a .676 save percentage.

Manhattanville (1-4) collected its first win of the season on Wednesday, edging St. Thomas Aquinas 2-1. The Valiants are led by Lisa Maxwell's five points (2g, 1a). After scoring both of Manhatanville's goals on Wednesday Emily Antnozzi is tied for the team lead with two goals. Kaitlin Halloran has played all but 17 minutes in goal for the Valliants. She owns a 3.16 goals against average and a .702 save percentage.

St. Lawrence (2-2) will be making the first of its two trips to Geneva this weekend. The Saints are coming off of a 5-1 win over Oswego last Friday night. Tori Shaffer leads the team with three goals and six points. Sonya Sandhu and Maggie Wraight are tied for second on the team with a goal and an assist a piece. Sophie Cardenali and Lexi Oskam have split time in the St. Lawrence goal. Cardenali is 2-1 with a .857 save percentage and a 0.74 goals against average. She is 10th in the nation in goals against average and 17th in save percentage.
