The William Smith College squash team went 3-0 on their final day of regular season competition to improve to 10-7 this season.

The Herons are ranked No. 27 in the latest College Squash Association rankings. William Smith downed No. 42 Rochester 9-0, No. 28 Mount Holyoke 9-0 and No. 37 Colgate 8-0.

In the first match of the day against the Yellowjackets, sophomore
Gabby Fraser posted an 11-2, 11-1, 11-0 win at No. 1 and senior
Cashel McCarthy earned an 11-1, 11-1, 11-2 victory at No. 2. At No. 3, first-year
Jo Pacheco won 11-2, 11-0, 11-1 and at No. 4 senior
Peyton Capute triumphed 11-0, 11-2, 11-2. Junior
Madison Bradley recorded an 11-2, 11-0, 11-6 victory at No. 5, and senior
Anna Worcester notched an 11-, 4, 11-1, 11-0 win at No. 6. At the No. 7 spot, sophomore Djeneba Ballo won 11-3, 11-3, 11-2. Sophomore
Karina Lazaro downed her Rochester opponent 11-2, 11-0, 11-1 at No. 8, and classmate
Maddie Saiontz earned an 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 victory at No. 9.

The Herons took on the Lyons next. Fraser won 11-5, 11-5, 11-8 at No. 1 and McCarthy rallied for a 9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-9 win at No. 2. Pacheco won 11-5, 11-6, 12-10 at No. 3, and Capute came back for an 11-13, 11-9, 11-5, 12-10 win at No. 4. At No. 5, Bradley produced an 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 victory and Worcester battled for a 14-16, 11-8, 11-1, 11-6 win at No. 6. Ballo cruised to an 11-0, 11-2, 11-0 victory at the No. 7 spot. Lazaro came out on top 11-4, 5-11, 11-4, 14-12 at No. 8, and Saiontz registered an 11-4, 11-4, 11-4 win at No. 9.

In the final match of the day, William Smith shut out Colgate. Fraser triumphed 11-2, 11-5, 11-4 at No. 1 and McCarthy won 11-2, 11-2, 11-0 at No. 2. At No. 3, Pacheco produced an 11-6, 11-0, 11-0 win. Capute recorded an 11-9, 11-1, 11-2 win at No. 4. Bradley topped her Raider opponent 11-3, 11-6, 11-0 at No. 5. Worcester won 11-2, 11-3, 11-1 at No. 6 and Ballo took down her Colgate opposition 11-0, 11-5, 11-0 at No. 7. Lazaro earned an 11-2, 11-3, 11-2 victory at the No. 8 spot.

Anna Worcester were celebrated at their final home match of the regular season. The Class of 2018 has helped Heron squash to a 55-30 four-year record.
