The William Smith College squash team captured its fifth CSA Championship title in program history, winning the Epps Cup with a 5-4 victory over No. 25 Bowdoin at Harvard today.

The No. 26 Herons finish the season with a 13-7 overall record. Sophomore
Gabby Fraser clinched the William Smith win with a four-game victory at the No. 1 spot. She topped her Polar Bear opponent 11-3, 8-11, 11-8, 11-1. Fraser led the Herons with a 16 victories at the No. 1 spot this season, surpassing her 14 wins at the top spot last season. Her 16 wins are the most for a Heron squash player at No. 1 since Lauren Lynch posted a 20-3 record at No. 1 in 2000-01.Â

Madison Bradley rallied for a 4-11, 6-11, 11-8, 12-10, 11-7 win at No. 5. Sophomore Djeneba Ballo won 11-5, 11-4, 7-11, 11-7 at No. 7. Sophomore
Karina Lazaro registered an 11-3, 11-7, 11-4 win at No. 8 and classmate
Maddie Saiontz earned an 11-3, 11-4, 11-0 victory at No. 9.
