The William Smith College lacrosse team will play three games this week, including hosting No. 17 Hamilton for its home opener on Wednesday, March 7. The Herons are ranked No. 13 in the IWLCA poll released today.
The opening draw for the Herons (0-1) and Continentals (0-1) is set for 4 p.m. William Smith will then host Nazareth on Boswell Field on Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m., before playing No. 14 Colby on Sunday, March 11 at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., at 2 p.m.

Hamilton dropped its season opener at then No. 19 Tufts 17-4 on Saturday. Six Continentals logged one point. Maddie Fitzpatrick and Kara Pooley each picked up three ground balls. Pooley won a team-high three draws, and Tessa Ryan caused a team-high three turnovers.
Wednesday's game will be the 50th meeting between Hamilton and William Smith. The Continentals hold a 33-15-1 lead in the series that dates back to 1978. However, the Herons won the last meeting, earning an 8-4 win in Clinton, N.Y., on March 8, 2017.
