In all, the Statesmen put together a strong opening weekend at the SLU Fall Classic, posting a 16-8 record in singles play.

In this afternoon's championship match, Dubrovsky defeated Rochester's Masaru Fujimaki, 6-2, 6-1. He advanced to the championship match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over the Yellowjackets Isaiah Volk. On Saturday, Dubrovsky began his season with an 8-4 win over Hamilton's Max Zimmerman. He topped Union's Ioannis Binopoulos, 8-2, in the quarterfinals. Sophomore
Walker Anderson and senior
Jonathan Atwater also represented Hobart in A flight singles. Anderson defeated St. Lawrence's Nico Haet 8-5 in the first round, while Atwater bested Rochester Institute of Technology's Brennan Bull 8-6. Atwater's win in the first round was the 50th singles win of his career.

After dropping his first round match, senior
David Reinharz rattled off three straight wins to claim the consolation final of B flight. He defeated Union's Nick Weitzman 8-3 and St. Lawrence's Arman Tavana 8-4. In the consolation final, Reinharz bested first-year
Jack Ledford.

Thomas Shung advanced to the semifinals of the C flight draw. In his collegiate debut, he defeated Union's Cameron Klepper before besting Ithaca's Liam Spiegel in the quarterfinals.

Junior
Joe Mallon advanced to the championship match of the D flight draw. He opened the tournament with an 8-3 victory over Jack Andre. In the semifinals, Mallon bested Rochester's Adrian Zhang 8-3. He was edged by George Lomas 7-6 (7-5), 6-2) in the championship.

In the doubles draw, Dubrovsky and Anderson advanced to the semifinals of A flight. They opened the tournament with an 8-5 win over Joshua Marvald and Eric Tecce. In the quarterfinals, Dubrovsky and Anderson topped Pasquale Procaccino and Peter Huang 8-2.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Sept. 22 when they travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to take on Amherst. The neutral site match is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
