Fraser leads Herons at Mount Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass.-William Smith College junior Gabby Fraser won both of her matches on the second day of the 2019 Mount Holyoke Round Robin. The Herons (4-7) were defeated by 17th-ranked Tufts 8-1 and 19th-ranked Bates 7-2 today.
 
William Smith took on the Bobcats in the first match of the day. Fraser bested Kristyna Alexova 13-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4 in the No. 1 spot. First-year Saige Arseneault knocked off Tiffany Cervantes in the No. 9 spot for her second win of the season. Arsenault won 13-11, 11-13, 11-6, 20-18. Bates won 3-0 at Nos. 2-8.
 
Fraser collected the Herons only point against the Jumbos in the No. 1 spot. She defeated Claire Davidson 11-8, 9-11, 13-11, 8-11, 11-8. Fraser is now 2-1 since returning to the lineup. Tufts won 3-0 in the other eight matches.
 
William Smith will be back in action next weekend, Feb. 2-3, when it travels to Canton, N.Y. for the 2019 Liberty League Championships.
