HARTFORD, Conn.-The William Smith College squash team was defeated by Connecticut College in the championship match of the Epps Cup at the College Squash Association Team National Championships this morning. The Herons conclude the season with a 10-10 overall record.
William Smith, which was ranked No. 27 in the CSA Team Rankings, notched wins in the top three spots of the lineup. Senior
Michaelann Denton defeated Margaret Davey 11-8, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7 in the No 3 spot. Denton wraps up her senior season with a 12-4 overall record. She went 8-3 in the third spot of the lineup. Senior
Madison Bradley bested Davis Lemay 9-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7, 11-9 at No. 2. Bradley is now 12-8 on the season, including a team best 7-4 record at the No. 2 spot. Junior
Gabby Fraser closed out the match with a win in the No. 1 spot. She knocked off Molly Carabatsos 11-4, 11-5, 11-2 for her 10th win of the season. Fraser was 10-2 in the No. 1 spot.
The Camels (8-10) won 3-0 at Nos. 4-7. They added 3-1 wins at No. 8 and No. 9. Denise Bonilla clinched the overall victory for Connecticut College with an 11-7, 11-6, 11-9 win in the No. 4 spot.
William Smith has concluded the team portion of its schedule. The Herons are scheduled to compete at the CSA Individual Championships next weekend, Mar. 1-3.
