The Hobart College tennis team will compete in the 2019 Liberty League Tournament this weekend, May 3-5, in Ithaca, N.Y. The matches will take place at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.

The Statesmen, who are ranked 35th in the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Men's Rankings, wrapped up the regular season with a 12-6 overall record and 6-2 record in the Liberty League. Hobart earned the third seed in the tournament and will face sixth-seeded Union (6-8, 3-5) at 5 p.m. in Friday's first round match up. In the other first round match, fourth-seeded Ithaca (5-12, 4-4) will take on fifth seed Vassar (8-9, 4-4).

Top seeded Skidmore (13-5, 8-0) and second seed Rensselaer (9-6, 7-1) earned first round byes. The winner of the Ithaca/Vassar match will take on the 17
th-ranked Thoroughbreds Saturday at 2:15 p.m. The Hobart/Union winner will take on the 34th-ranked Engineers at 5 p.m.

Sophomore
Alan Dubrovsky, the nation's fifth-ranked singles player, is a team best 24-7 and broke the program record for most singles wins in a season when he notched his 23rd victory against Vassar. He was 13-5 in the No. 1 spot and 6-2 in the Liberty League. Dubrovsky and sophomore
Walker Anderson are ranked eighth in the nation in doubles play. The pair are a team best 20-9 and 13-5 in the No. 1 spot. Dubrovsky and Anderson are 7-1 in Liberty League play. Senior
Jonathan Atwater is undefeated in Liberty League play and has won his last eight matches. Atwater is 14-3 in the No. 2 spot.

Ioannis Binopoulos is 4-8 in the No. 1 spot for the Dutchmen. Binopoulos is 8-11 overall and 2-5 in Liberty League play. In the match against the Statesmen earlier this month, he was defeated by Dubrovsky 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. Cameron Klepper is a team best 11-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play. Klepper is 4-3 in the No. 3 spot and 1-2 at No. 2. Anderson defeated Klepper 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot.
