BRONX, N.Y. —The No. 25 William Smith College squash team swept No. 40 Fordham 9-0 this afternoon at the Lombardi Squash Courts.
 
Senior Gabby Fraser recorded a win at No. 1, defeating Grace Davidson in three sets. Fraser is 6-1 in the No. 1 spot this season. First-year Marcela Marquez Martinez played her first match as a Heron, and collected a win over Emily Bergin in three sets. Junior Jo Pacheco tallied her fourth straight win, defeating Elizaveta Gracheva in three sets. First-year Talia Welker blanked Caroline Westdyk in three sets at No. 4. Sophomore Molly Wachter downed Katherine Coleman in the No. 5 spot, and senior Djeneba Ballo earned a win at No. 6. First-years Erin Griffis and Maia Dreishpoon won at Nos. 7 and 8 respectively, and sophomore Gretchen Vietor swept Tayler Rogers at No. 9.
 
The Herons will be back in action Friday, Jan. 24 when they travel to Amherst, Mass. for the 2020 Pioneer Valley Invitational. William Smith will play Connecticut College Friday at 6 p.m. to open the tournament.
