NEW HAVEN, Conn. —The No. 22 William Smith College squash team defeated No. 24 Hamilton 6-3 this morning in the consolation playoff of the Walker Cup at Yale's Brady Squash Center. With today's win, the Herons finished seventh overall in the championship.

Marcela Marquez Martinez won in three games at No. 1. She is now 12-1 overall this season. Senior
Gabby Fraser defeated Natalie Harrity 11-9, 11-2, 11-3 at No. 2. Fraser has collected 16 wins this season. Junior
Jo Pacheco won in four games in the No. 3 spot. Pacheco has recorded a 10-2 record in the No. 3 spot this season.
Hamilton earned wins at Nos. 4 and 5. First-year
Erin Griffis defeated Liesl Guenther 8-11, 11-6, 11-4, 12-10 in the No. 6 spot. First-year
Maia Dreishpoon earned her 15
th win of the season with a victory in the No. 8 spot. Senior
Karina Lazaro dropped the first game, but won the next three for a win at No. 9. Lazaro has compiled a 10-3 mark this season.
William Smith has concluded the team portion of its schedule and finished the season with a 16-5 mark. The Herons are scheduled to compete at the CSA Individual Championships Friday, Mar. 6-8.
