GENEVA, N.Y.— The No. 22 William Smith College squash team won their third Liberty League Championship after sweeping No. 41 Bard 9-0 this morning. The last time the Herons won a Liberty League title was in 2006. The championship was discontinued in 2009-10, and reinstated in 2017-18. Senior
Gabby Fraser was 3-0 in the championship, and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. The Herons improve their season record to 15-3, and extend their win streak to seven.
Fraser won at No. 2 to clinch the match with an 11-2, 11-0, 11-1 win over the Raptors' Riti Bahl. Fraser extended her win streak to seven, and is 14-2 overall this season. First-year
Marcela Marquez Martinez increased her win streak to ten with a win over Pam Jarammillo 11-1, 11-0, 11-3 in the No. 1 spot. Junior
Jo Pacheco defeated Cerina Shippey 11-4, 11-3, 11-2 at No. 3. Sophomore
Molly Wachter downed Nadia Russell 11-2, 11-6, 11-2 in the No. 4 spot. Senior
Djeneba Ballo earned a win at No. 5 over Jackie Lerman 11-6, 11-5, 11-0. First-years

Maia Dreishpoon won in three games at Nos. 6, 7, and 8 respectively. Dreishpoon has won seven consecutive matches and is 13-5 overall this season. Senior
Karina Lazaro won by default in the No. 9 spot.
William Smith won the championship with a 3-0 record. St. Lawrence finished second (2-1), Vassar finished third (1-2), and Bard finished fourth (0-3).
The Herons will be back in action Friday, Feb. 21, when they travel to New Haven Conn. for the CSA Team National Championships.
