Statesmen place 4th at Hamilton Tune-Up

CLINTON, N.Y.—The Hobart College cross country team finished fourth out of nine teams at the 5-kilometer Hamilton Tune-Up Invitational today. Matt Fridel was the Statesmen's top finisher for the third race in a row.

Fridel was one of three Hobart harriers in the top 30 in a field of 87 runners. He crossed the line in 17:30.2 to finished 21st. Jonathan Garcia was close behind, placing 23rd in 17:36.6. Henry Loudon was the next Statesman through the finishing chute, placing 29th with a time of 17:48.8.

The host Continentals won the team title behind individual winner Bram Mansbach (15:58.5). SUNY-ESF was second 46 points behind Hamilton. SUNY Poly was third followed by Hobart, Morrisville, Hartwick, Potsdam, Utica and Sage.

The Statesmen will compete in the Liberty League Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Saratoga Springs.
