William Smith College's Abby Palin and Erin Howe were named the Liberty League Women's Cross Country Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, by the conference office today.
 
Palin was the first Heron across the finish line at the 4-kilometer Hamilton Tune-Up Invitational, placing sixth in a field of 72 runners. She logged her best time of the season at that distance, stopping the clock at 15:55.4. Palin has led William Smith to the finish in each of the team's six races this season.
 
Howe was William Smith's second finisher at Hamilton. She was 25th overall, posting a time of 17:26.5.
 
As a team, the Herons finished fourth out of seven teams at Hamilton.
 
William Smith will compete in the Liberty League Championships Saturday, Oct. 30 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
