William Smith faces Meredith in NCAA 1st round

The William Smith College lacrosse team will travel to Lancaster, Pa., on Saturday, May 8, for a first round game in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Herons, who are ranked 16th in the latest IWLCA Poll and 10th in the latest Nike/US Lacrosse magazine poll, will take on Meredith at 5:30 p.m. at Shadek Stadium.
 
Spectators will be limited to two guests per student-athlete and coach. There will be no general admission ticket sales.
 
Fans not in attendance can follow all the action online. Veteran broadcaster Ted Baker will describe the action on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva). The game will be streamed on the Centennial Conference Digital Network and live stats will be provided on godiplomats.com.
 
The winner of Saturday's game will take No. 1 Franklin & Marshall on Sunday. Opening draw for that game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
