ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Hobart College cross country competed in the Yellowjacket Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester today. The 8-kilometer race was staged at Genesee Valley Park.
Jonathan Garcia led the Statesmen, traversing the course in 29:14.7 to place 156th out of 235 entries. A career best 8k time for Garcia, he improved his previous PR by one-minute, 43.7 seconds.
Ian Albreski was the second Hobart runner across the line, posting a time of 30:30.5 to place 191st.
Henry Loudon was close behind, stopping the clock at 30:41.6 and finishing 196th.
Stewart Falso was 207th in 31:26.6.
Hobart entered five runners in the race, but only had four finish, so they did not factor into the team standings.
With 12 runners in the top 13, Division I Cornell won the team title. Geneseo's Tyler Senall was the individual winner with a time of 25:57.6.
The Statesmen will be back in action on Oct. 2 when they compete in the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by SUNY Geneseo in Letchworth State Park.
