2/7/2022 4:51:00 PM

The William Smith basketball team will travel to SUNY Geneseo for its final non-conference game of the season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Spectators are welcome in Carl Schrader Gymnasium. Masks are to be worn at all times and no food or drink is allowed in the gym. Fans who can't make it to Geneseo can follow the action with live video and statistics on geneseoknights.com.

William Smith (4-14) aims to halt a six-game slide. The Heron lineup includes two of the top four scorers in the Liberty League, Olivia Parisi and Brooke Jarvis, both of whom were named to the conference's weekly honor roll today.

Parisi led William Smith in scoring and steals and was second in rebounding in a pair of games last week. At Skidmore, she scored a game-high 28 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Parisi shot 50% from the floor, including 1-for-1 from beyond the arc, and made 9-of-11 at the free throw line against the Thoroughbreds. She did not commit a turnover in the game. Against St. Lawrence, Parisi produced a team-high 16 points, collected eight rebounds and dished out two assists.

Parisi has started all 18 games this season and is averaging a team-leading 17.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 1.8 apg. She leads the league and is 25th in the nation in free throw percentage (.857). Parisi ranks second in the conference in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage (.477) and sixth in rebounding.

Jarvis averaged 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week. She recorded 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists at Skidmore. Against St. Lawrence, she shared team-high honors with 16 points and added five rebounds and an assist.

Jarvis has also started every game this season and is producing 17.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, a team-leading 1.4 apg and 1.0 spg. She ranks fourth in the Liberty League in scoring, fifth in field goal percentage (.425), seventh in free throw percentage (.667), ninth in rebounding and 11th in steals.

Geneseo is 12-8 this season. The Knights have won five in a row, including a 62-48 triumph at Brockport on Friday. Geneseo does not have a player averaging double digits in the scoring column, but has four players contributing at least. 7.8 ppg. Hannah Stockman paces the team at 9.9 ppg. Mackenzie Reigle adds 9.6 ppg and a team-high 3.1 apg. Lauren Romito chips in 7.8 ppg and a team-high 7.3 rpg.

The game will be the 26th meeting between the teams in a series that dates back to 1976. The Herons hold a 14-11 lead, but the Knights have won each of the past three meetings, including, most recently, a 68-54 win in Geneva on Nov. 12, 2019.
