The Hobart and William Smith Colleges squash teams will begin the second half of their seasons this weekend against New England Small College Athletic Conference opponents. The Statesmen, who are ranked 24th in the latest College Squash Association Team Rankings will take on No. 6 Trinity Sunday. HWS will take on Bowdoin Monday and Bates Tuesday. Sunday's match against Trinity will start at 4 p.m. The matches against Bowdoin and Bates will start at 11 a.m.
Hobart is 2-4 overall and has won two straight matches.
Omar Kiwan and
Sebi De La Vega lead the Statesmen with four wins each. Kiwan is 4-2 overall with a 3-2 mark in the No. 2 spot. De La Vega is 4-1, playing all five matches in the No. 1 spot.
Trinity is 6-0 overall, posting five 9-0 victories. The Bowdoin's men's team is 4-3 and will host Dartmouth this evening. Bates is 5-1 and has won four straight since losing to Trinity. The Bobcats will be at St. Lawrence Monday.
The Herons are 5-1 overall and have won three straight matches.
Anna O'Connor is 5-1, playing in the No. 6 and No. 7 spots. Four Herons are right behind her with four wins each.
Rafaela Albuja Sanchez and
Laila Selim are 4-2 in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively.
Marce Marquez Martinez and
Jada Smith-Padmore are also 4-2.
Bowdoin is 6-1 overall and has won six straight since dropping its season opener. Bates enters the weekend with a 1-5 record. The Bobcats will play Stanford Friday and St. Lawrence Monday.
