The William Smith College squash team will be back in action this weekend, Feb. 4-5, when it heads to Canton, New York, for the 2023 Liberty League Women's Squash Championship hosted by St. Lawrence University.
 
With the addition of Denison, the tournament is now a five-team championship in a round-robin tournament. The team with the best record in four matches will be crowned Liberty League Champion. The Herons have won three conference titles with the most recent coming in 2019-20.
 
William Smith is 13-2 overall and has won eight straight matches. The Herons held at No. 13 in the College Squash Association Team Rankings. William Smith already has wins over Vassar and St. Lawrence this season.
 
On Saturday, the Herons will take on Vassar at 11 a.m. and Bard at 1:30 p.m. Sunday William Smith will play Denison and St. Lawrence. If St. Lawrence beats Denison on Saturday, the Herons will face Denison at 9 a.m. and St. Lawrence at 11:30 a.m. If Denison beats St. Lawrence, William Smith will take on St. Lawrence at 9 a.m. and Denison at 11:30 a.m.

ABOUT THE HERONS

• Sophomore Anna O'Connor leads the team with 14 wins, including an 8-0 mark at No. 5. She has 12 straight victories.
• Junior Rafaela Albuja Sanchez has played all 15 matches at No. 1 She is 13-2 overall.
• Senior Marce Marquez Martinez and junior Jada Smith-Padmore have 12 wins each and junior Laila Selim has 11 victories.
