#6 William Smith to host #15 Bowdoin in mid-week clash

Daniels named to weekly honor roll

The sixth-ranked William Smith College lacrosse team will be back in action Tuesday, March 14, when it welcomes 15th-ranked Bowdoin College to the Poole Family Dome. The game was moved inside due to the expected weather forecast.
 
Capacity of the Poole Family Dome is limited by fire code so there will be no general admission to the game. Spectators will be limited to people on the teams' official pass lists.
 
The game will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva). Fans can watch the contest on HWS All-Access and track the action with Live Stats.
 
William Smith (3-0) is coming off a 19-4 victory at Brockport last Wednesday and moved up to No. 6 in the IL Women/IWLCA Poll and held at No. 6 in the NIKE/USA Lacrosse Magazine poll. Natalie Daniels led the Herons with six points on five goals and an assist in the victory over the Golden Eagles.
 
Bowdoin is 2-1 and is coming off an 11-8 win at Hamilton on Saturday. The Polar Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back. Sophia Sudano and Emelia Krakora had hat tricks in the victory.
 
ABOUT THE HERONS
  • Maddie Montgomery leads the team with 13 points on nine goals and four assists. She also has a team-high 11 draw controls.
  • Allie McGinty has a team-high five assists.
  • The defense which is ranked 16th in the nation in scoring defense (6.00 gpg) is led by Payton McMahon, Livvy Von Heill and Kate Risley, who have three caused turnovers each.
  • Maura Smeader is 3-0 in goal with a .583 save percentage and a 6.00 GAA. She is 10th in the nation in save percentage and 14th in GAA.
 
ABOUT THE POLAR BEARS
  • Bowdoin is led by Sudano's 10 goals and 12 points.
  • Colleen McAloon leads the Polar Bears with four assists.
  • Sophia Schaefer and Emelia Krakora share the team lead with 11 draw controls each.
  • Izzy Cisneros and Sophie Brett have split time in the goal Cisneros is 2-1 with a 9.34 GAA and a .435 save percentage. Brett has a .500 save percentage and an 11.04 GAA.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Tomorrow's game will be the sixth meeting between William Smith and Bowdoin with the Polar bears holding a slight 3-2 edge.
  • Bowdoin has won three straight in the series, including a 13-5 NCAA tournament game in 2019. Payton McMahon had three points on two goals and an assist in the game.
