The Hobart College tennis team will conclude its regular season with two conference home matches this weekend at the HWS Tennis Center. The Statesmen will welcome No. 33 RPI on Saturday at 2 p.m. and St. Lawrence on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Hobart enters the weekend with a 13-4 overall record, 5-1 in conference play. The Statesmen are coming off a 9-0 victory over RIT on Tuesday. No. 17 regionally ranked singles player and Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week, junior Sean Pesin defeated Grahith Movva in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 1 position to move to 8-5 on the season.
 
The Engineers enter the weekend with a 9-5 overall record, 5-1 mark in the Liberty League. RPI is coming off a 7-2 win at St. Lawrence, April 15, and is ranked No. 33 nationally and No. 11 in the Northeast Region.
 
The Saints enter the weekend at 6-7 overall, 2-4 in the Liberty League. St. Lawrence is coming off a 9-0 win over Bard on April 16.
 
ABOUT THE STATESMEN

• Hobart is No. 16 in the ITA Northeast rankings.
• First-year Nick Fischer is 17-4 in singles and is riding a 12-match win streak.
• Pesin is 14-6 in singles, including an 8-5 mark at No. 1.
• Sophomore Hyat Oyer is 13-5 in singles and is also undefeated in 12 straight.
• Pesin and senior Jett Wright are the top doubles tandem. They are 15-9 overall.

ABOUT THE ENGINEERS

• Aiden Drover-Mattinen is the No. 7 ranked singles player in the Northeast. He is 10-4 in the No. 1 singles position.
• Abraham Yohannes is 12-2 in singles play and is 5-0 in the conference.
• Drover-Mattinen and Andy Zhu are the No. 9 doubles team in the Northeast. They are 7-6 on the season in the No. 1 spot.
• Yohannes and Igor Visnevskij are 10-3 in the No. 2 doubles position.

ABOUT THE SAINTS

• Cole Hamilton is 8-4 in singles action this season.
• Broderick Pinto is 6-5 at the No. 4 singles spot.
• Pinto and Adam Heilbronner are 9-4 in doubles action.
• John Hill-Edgar and Edvin Strandberg lead the Saints in doubles play at 10-3 on the season.

• Hobart and RPI last met on April 2, 2022. The Engineer's defeated the Statesmen 8-1 in Latham, N.Y.
