The Hobart football team begins a two-game road trip at Buffalo State Saturday, Oct. 12. The Liberty League contest will kick off at 3 p.m. on Coyer Field.

- The Statesmen sport the Liberty League's stingiest defense. Hobart is allowing a league-low 9.8 points per game, which ranks 10th in the nation. The Bengals are last in the league in scoring offense, producing 13.5 points per game.
- Buff State's numbers are skewed by last week's 55-0 loss at FCS Mercyhurst. Against Division III teams, the Bengals are 2-1 and outscoring their opposition 18.0-11.0.

STATESMEN TO WATCH
- Senior linebacker Anthony Romano was named the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week after posting a career-high matching 16 tackles and an interception in the win over Ithaca. He's tied for fourth in the league in total tackles with 40.
- Record-breaking punter Vicente Lyon was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week after all four of his punts against the Bombers covered at least 56 yards. His first punt, an eye-popping 86-yarder is the longest in NCAA football this season and eclipsed his own Hobart record set two years ago (73 yds vs. RPI).
- Sophomore running back E.J. Taylor, who is second in the Liberty League in rushing (86.0 yds/g), will be faced with a Buffalo State defense that yields 166.8 yards per game.

BEHIND THE BENGALS
- Senior Darion Jones is one of the top return men in the conference this season. He's averaging a league-leading 12.7 yards per punt return and is fifth in the league in kickoff return at 19.3.
- Sophomore quarterback Amir Cameron directs the offense. He's thrown for 283 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 102 yards and a TD.
- Junior linebacker Sincere Green paces the defense with 37 tackles, 9.5 for loss, three sacks and four pass breakups.
