4/11/2024 4:46:00 PM

The Hobart tennis team moved up three spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings. The No. 28 ranked Statesmen are set to host NYU, Bard, and No. 27 RPI this weekend. Action will begin on Saturday against the Violets at 10 a.m., and will be followed by a matchup with the Raptors at 7 p.m. To close out the weekend, the Statesmen will take on the Engineers on Sunday at 2 p.m. The location of the matches will depend on the weather.

Hobart is 10-3 this season and is riding a 10-match win streak. The Statesmen went 3-0 last week and four Statesmen were recognized by the conference. Senior Sean Pesin and sophomore Nick Fischer were named the Liberty League Doubles Team of the Week, while first-year Achilleas Kousaridis was named the conference's rookie of the week. Senior Winter Fagerberg was named to the weekly honor roll.

NYU brings a 2-5 overall record to Geneva and is coming off a 6-1 loss to the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The Violets defeated Liberty League opponent RIT 9-0 earlier this season.

Bard is 1-5 this season, 0-5 in the Liberty League. The Raptors are coming off an 8-1 loss to Skidmore.

RPI brings a 10-1 record to Geneva. The Engineer's are 3-0 in conference play and are coming off a 7-2 win over Skidmore. RPI will take on RIT on Saturday before heading to Geneva on Sunday.
