Nick Fischer and
Jacob Linares of the Hobart tennis team opened action at the 2025 ITA Cup with a win in doubles play to advance to the quarterfinal round tomorrow afternoon. The Statesmen duo are the first Hobart doubles team in program history to win its opening match at the ITA Cup.
Fischer and Linares defeated Whitman's Charles Rush and Artem Manov 7-5, 6-4, in a thrilling opening round matchup to advance to tomorrow's quarterfinal round. The Statesmen will take on top-seeded Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff from Gustavus Adolphus tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in hopes of advancing to the semifinals the following day. With the win, the Hobart duo improves to 6-0 on the season.
The duo from Gustavus Adolphus won its opening match 6-4, 6-2, over Chicago's Heyang Li and Albert Mackey after winning the ITA Midwest Regional Championship to advance to the ITA Cup.
