ROME, Ga.—Hobart seniors
Nick Fischer and
Jacob Linares continued their run at the 2025 ITA Cup this afternoon. The Statesmen duo improved to 7-0 this season and secured a spot in tomorrow's semifinal round.
Today, Fischer and Linares competed against Gustavus Adolphus' Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff, the tournament's No. 1 seed. Fischer and Linares won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. On Thursday, they opened the tournament with a 7-5, 6-4 victory. In the semifinals, Fischer and Linares will take on No. 3 seed Henry Wilson and Sibi Raja. Wilson and Raja are from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. In the round of 16, they won 6-0, 6-4, and then followed that up with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 victory in today's quarterfinal.
Fischer and Linares and Wilson and Raja will square off tomorrow, Oct. 18, at 3:30 p.m. The other semifinal is also scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and will feature a team from Emory and a team from Babson. The winners will meet for the ITA Cup on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Fischer and Linares are the fourth Hobart doubles team to compete in the ITA Cup since 2018. They are the first duo to advance to the semifinals. The previous three teams all lost their opening match and competed in the consolation draw.
