GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart football team will host RPI on Homecoming and Family Weekend at Urick Stadium. Kickoff on Boswell Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
Hobart football is encouraging all fans to wear orange to the game. The "Orange Out" is presented by Eddie O'Brien's Grille & Bar. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free orange Hobart t-shirt, courtesy of Eddie O'Brien's.
For Homecoming and Family Weekend, admission to Urick Stadium is free for all fans.
The game will be webcast on HWS All-Access and broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7). Fans can also follow the action with Live Stats.
During halftime, fans will be entertained by a performance by the HWS Kinetic Dance Collective followed by an on-field corgi race.
Hobart is 1-3 on the season with all four games decided by just a single possession. The Statesmen look to rebound from a 13-7 loss at Ithaca last week.
Junior running back
E.J. Taylor is the team's top offensive producer. He's rushed for 4.5 yards per carry, logging 327 yards and six touchdowns on the ground, while catching 10 passes for 85 yards.
Sophomore quarterback
Jeremy Weiss has completed 50% of his passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. Saturday will be his first collegiate start. Junior wide receiver
Marcus Peterson has a team-high 16 receptions for 260 yards, while sophomore wide out
Johnny Harding adds 10 catches for 142 yards and a TD.
The Hobart defense has played well, limiting opponents to just 18.0 points and 296.8 yards per game. Senior linebacker
Mike McGhee leads the team with 45 tackles.
RPI brings a 3-1 record to Geneva. The Engineers opened conference play against Rochester last week, posting a convincing 31-3 win over previously unbeaten Rochester.
The Engineers are averaging 25.25 points and 319.8 yards per game. Quarterback Anthony DeMatteo has completed 55.67% of his passes for 753 yards and five touchdowns against three interceptions. Josh Young and Paisley Nickelson both have 12 receptions. Young leads the team with 189 yards and two touchdowns, while Nickelson has 141 yards. Kayden White leads the ground game. He has 310 yards and eight touchdowns.
Defensively, RPI allows 19.25 points and 354.5 yards per game. Defensive backs Matt Krauza and Miles Lafferty leads the team with 30 tackles apiece.
