The home regatta on Seneca Lake is named in memory of David Lee Arnoff '82, a loyal Hobart alum and avid sailor who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. The event was renamed in 2014 to honor David and his contributions to HWS and his love of sailing.
Â
This year HWS will compete against Cornell, Princeton, SUNY Maritime, Merchant Marine Academy and Vermont.
Â
Last year, HWS won the regatta by 24 points.
James Kopack and
Lucy Lack finished in first place with 40 points. They combined with
Nico Garcia-Castrillon and
Stella Kim, who placed sixth overall with 69 points. HWS won the regatta with 109 points, 24 ahead of Vermont.
Â
This weekend, HWS will also be in action at the Nevins Trophy in Kings Point, New York. William Smith sailors will be in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for the Women's ACC Tournament.
