Two members of the William Smith swimming and diving team were recognized by the Liberty League after their strong performances over the weekend. Sophomore Fiona Garfield was named the Liberty League Diver of the Week, while junior Mackenzie Morus was named to the weekly honor roll.

Garfield earned her second conference diver of the week recognition after a record-breaking week from the diving boards. For the second straight week, Garfield swept both diving events, winning both the 1- and 3-meter events against St. Lawrence bringing her season total to six wins. From the 3-meter board, Garfield earned a score of 267.45, breaking the school record and the St. Lawrence pool record. It also was an NCAA Regional qualifying score. She then went on to win from the 1-meter board with a score of 232.72 to finish the weekend sweep.

Morus earned a spot on the weekly honor roll after another standout weekend for the Herons. She collected two wins against the Saints, finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.05 and the 200 butterfly after stopping the clock at 2:27.69. Morus then added a third place finish in the 200 Individual Medley with a time of 2:27.42 and anchored the 200 medley relay team that finished second with a  time of 2:07.45.

The Herons will be back in action Dec. 4-6, when they travel to Ithaca, New York, for the Bomber Invitational. The three-day meet will begin at 5 p.m., on Thursday.
