Two members of the Hobart soccer team were named to the 2025 Academic All-District Men's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators. Seniors Tommy Chyzowych and Brian Sheehan were recognized for their combined excellence on the pitch and in the classroom.

Academic All-District teams recognize student-athletes who are starters or significant contributors to their team, have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed at least one full year at their institution. Chyzowych and Sheehan will advance to the national Academic All-America® ballot.

A business management and entrepreneurship major, Chyzowych also represented Hobart on the 2025 Liberty League All-Academic Team. He also was a 2024 Arnold Scholar-Athlete Award recipient.

The two-year starting goalkeeper for Hobart, Chyzowych compiled an 11-1-4 record this season with a league-leading 0.63 GAA and an .800 save percentage. He also led the conference with seven shutouts. Chyzowych was voted the 2025 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year.

A transfer from Lehigh, he appeared in 33 matches for the Statesmen, registering a 16-7-10 record, a 0.76 GAA, a .797 save percentage and 13 shutouts.

An economics major, Sheehan is making his second appearance on the Academic All-District Team. He's also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic selection.

A defender on the field, Sheehan started all 19 games for the Statesmen this season. He scored the first goal of the season, the game winner, for Hobart against Kean. Sheehan was a key contributor to a defensive unit that allowed a league-low 12 goals and registered a league-high nine shutouts. He was elected to the All-Liberty League first team.

A four-year starter, Sheehan produced five goals, three of which were game winners, and four assists for 14 points in 63 career matches.

Hobart went unbeaten in the regular season (13-0-5), winning the Liberty League regular season and tournament championships. The Statesmen earned the program's 10th NCAA tournament bid, suffering a heart-breaking 1-0 overtime defeat against Messiah in the first round.
