Hobart sophomore guard
Monty Nedd was named the Liberty League Men's Basketball Performer of the Week by the league office today. He averaged a double-double to lead Hobart to victories over Ithaca and Utica last week.

On Tuesday, Nedd scored a career and game-high 27 points, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, dished out a game-high eight assists and posted a game-high four steals. He connected on 11-of-15 shots from the floor and 5-of-6 at the free throw line in the 86-66 victory over the Bombers. He closed out the 2025 portion of Hobart's schedule with his first collegiate double-double on Saturday, scoring a team-high 20 points, collecting a career and game-high 12 rebounds, handing out a game-high six assists and logging a game-high five steals. The Statesmen scored the final 11 points of the game to secure a 66-53 win over the Pioneers. Nedd scored four points and had two assists in the closing run.

For the week, Nedd shot 64.3% from the floor (18-28) and 83.3% at the line (10-12) while averaging 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 4.5 steals.

A starter in all 10 games this season, Nedd is averaging a team-high 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, a team-high 4.2 assists and a team-high 2.9 steals per game. He is second in the conference in steals, third in assists, fifth in scoring and free throw percentage (.780), ninth in field goal percentage (.486), and 11th in rebounding.

The Statesmen enter their semester break with an 8-2 record, including a 2-1 mark in league play. Hobart will return to the court Jan. 9, 2026, when Skidmore visits Bristol Gym.
