Nedd nabs national nod

Hobart sophomore guard Monty Nedd earned a spot on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for the week ending Dec. 14. Yesterday, he was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week for the same period.
 
In wins over Ithaca and Utica, Nedd averaged 23.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 4.5 steals while shooting 64.3% from the floor and 83.3% at the free throw line. In a 20-point Liberty League win over the Bombers, he scored a career and game-high 27 points, grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, dished out a game-high eight assists and posted a game-high four steals. Against the Pioneers, Nedd posted a team-high 20 points, a career and game-high 12 rebounds, a game-high six assists and a game-high five steals. The Statesmen scored the final 11 points of the game to beat Utica 66-53. Nedd had four points and two assists in the closing run.
 
Nedd has started all 10 games for Hobart (8-2), averaging a team-high 15.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, a team-high 4.2 assists and a team-high 2.9 steals per game. He ranks among the best in the nation in steals. Nedd is 14th in Division III with 29 total steals and is 27th in steals per game.
 
Hobart will return to the court Jan. 9, 2026, when Skidmore visits Bristol Gym.
