For the second year in a row, Hobart senior punter
Vicente Lyon has been named to the D3football.com All-America third team. The Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Year was named to the Associated Press All-America second team last week.

Lyon holds the Statesmen records for longest punt (68 yards vs. Ithaca in 2024), highest season punting average (43.58 in 2024), and highest career punting average (41.3). This season, he led the league with the second highest averaging in Hobart history (42.9). Lyon was voted the 2025 Liberty League Special Teams Performer of the Year while picking up his third career All-Liberty League nod.

Lyon boomed a league-high seven punts that cover 50 yards or more this season. His longest, a 63-yarder at Brockport, was the longest by any punter in the Liberty League this season.

Lyon was named to the D3football.com National Team of the Week four times in his career. He earned his fourth appearance this season after averaging 50.0 yards per punt in Hobart's win over St. Lawrence.

The Statesmen were 6-5 this season, finishing the year on a five-game winning streak. Hobart capped the season with a 42-14 win over Maritime in the ECAC James Lynah Bowl.
