The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced earlier this week that junior diver Daniel Barrientos of the Hobart swimming and diving team was named an All-American on the 3-meter board for the 2024-25 season. Barrientos is one of 238 male student-athletes from 46 institutions that earned All-American honors.

Barrientos is the first Statesman diver to be named an All-American since Peter Taylor '92 in 1992. In the same year, Jack Fulton '92 represented Hobart swimming as an All-American. Most recently, HWS was represented on the national stage by Caroline Conboy '17 as an All-American in 2016 and 2017.

The junior from Fulshear, Texas, earned his All-American status on the 3-meter board after an impressive performance at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships last week. Barrientos finished 15th in the 11-dive 3-meter competition, securing second team All-American honors. He posted a score of 429.30 in the preliminary round, qualifying for the consolation final later that day, where he secured a score of 437.15 to clinch 15th place.

Barriento's strong performance on the national stage capped off his most successful season at Hobart. He posted 19 top three finishes in his junior season, including 11 victories and five Liberty League Diver of the Week awards. In dual matches, Barrientos secured 10 total wins, winning five times each from the 1- and 3-meter boards. He added seven podium finishes within the four invitationals he competed at, including two wins from the 3-meter board.

At the Liberty League Championships, Barrientos finished second from the 1-meter board with a score of 538.90 and third from the 3-meter board with a score of 558.55. His strong showing broke all four school records, including the 1-meter six and 11 dives and the 3-meter six and 11 dive competitions. His score of 399.05 also broke the Ithaca pool record for the 3-meter six dive competition and helped punch his ticket to the NCAA Diving Regional Championships. Barrientos shined at the Regional Championships, posting a fifth place finish from the 3-meter board and a fourth place finish from the 1-meter board, securing one of six spots from the Northeast Regional site to compete in the 24-diver field at the national championships.
