Junior diver Daniel Barrientos will represent the Hobart swimming and diving team on the national stage as he competes at the 2025 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championships this week, March 19-22, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is the first Statesman diver to qualify for the national championships since Peter Taylor '92 did in 1992.
Men's 3-meter diving is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, with the preliminary rounds set to begin at 10 a.m., while the finals take place at 6 p.m. The 1-meter diving competition will take place on Friday, March 21, with the same start times as Wednesday.

Barrientos competed against the top 17 divers in the region at Ithaca's Kelsey Bird Partridge Natatorium Feb. 28- March 1, and was one of six divers that qualified from the Northeast Regional site that will compete in the 24-diver field looking to be crowned the nation's top diver.
At the NCAA Diving Regional Championships, Barrientos placed fifth from the 3-meter board with a score of 497.05 before clinching fourth place from the 1-meter board with a score of 483.85. His strong performances at the Regional Championship punched his ticket to the National Championships for the first time in his collegiate career.
Barrientos' record-breaking season has seen him earn five Liberty League Diver of the Week awards, raising his career total to nine. He's posted 19 top three finishes this season, including 11 victories. He placed third on the 3-meter board and second on the 1-meter board at the Liberty League Championships to highlight his impressive season.
